Ruggiero Ricci

Ruggiero Ricci will give extensive master classes the last two weeks of Meadowmount. Selected students will perform in these open classes every afternoon. Since his San Francisco debut at age 10, Ruggiero Ricci has performed over 6000 concerts in 65 countries with virtually every major orchestra and conductor.

His discography lists more than 500 recordings, including 65 CDs - reputedly the largest of any violinist that includes challenging repertoire never recorded by anyone else. He made the first recording of the Paganini caprices and gave the U.S. premiere of the 4th and 6th concerti. He is recognized as having greatly contributed to the world's renewed appreciation and affection for the great 19th-century composers and has performed world premieres of many 20th-century composers.

He began his violin studies at age six with Louis Persinger and later studied with Michel Piastro, Paul Stassevitch and Gerog Kalenkampf.
