Eric Larsen

ERIC LARSEN received a B.M. degree with distinction from the University of Wisconsin and a M.M. from the Manhattan School of Music. His teachers have included Dora Zaslavsky and Artur Baslam in New York, Pierre Sancan in Paris, and Benjamin Kaplan in London.

He has been heard in the major concert halls of Europe, South America, Russia, and the United States as soloist and collaborator with leading recitalists. As the recipient of major grants from the Mellon Foundation and the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, he has done extensive research on the Grieg Manuscript Collection in the Bergen, Norway Bibliotek. Mr. Larsen has given solo piano and chamber music master classes throughout the United States, Russia, South America, China and Taiwan.

His students have won major prizes in the Pretoria, South Africa International Competition, Busoni, Casagrande, Bartok-Kabalevsky and Josef Hofmann Competitions as well as the International Bach Competition and the Cincinnati World Competition. Mr. Larsen has recorded for Albany, Bay Cities, Melodiya, Russian Disc, and New World.

He is currently on the Artist Faculty of the North Carolina School of the Arts and is the pianist in the Meadowmount Trio.
